Gardening Workshop

  • Downtown Learning Garden 171 West Main Street Batesville, AR, 72501 United States (map)

Free gardening workshop at the NEW Downtown Learning Garden, 171 W. Main Street.

Come join us as local farmer Brandon Gordon of Five Acre Farms leads a hands-on workshop on the basics of starting a garden, and the challenges of gardening in non-traditional spaces like urban lots (like ours!).

Great for any age. Some tools available, but bring your own if possible.

The Downtown Learning Garden is a new endeavor by Main Street Batesville organization show how an unused empty lot can be transformed into something alive that contributes to the community. The Learning Garden will be available for all to use as they please on a work-and-enjoy basis (pull weeds, water, etc = pick yourself some fresh produce).  All excess produce will be donated to the local charity "Our Father's Table" which prepares weekly meals for the hungry.

No need to register, just show up. To sign up as a volunteer and help manage the garden, email mainstreetbatesville@gmail.com
