Maxfield Park is now open for visitors to enjoy the meditation garden, waterfall, and native stone landscaping.
Thanks Anne Strahl's generous donation to the Main Street Batesville revitalization efforts, the park is a new addition to downtown, yet designed to blend naturally into its historic setting as if it has always been there. Its native stone landscaping features the excavated stone from a historic building that once stood on the property. The central bench is constructed from a local tanning stone that belonged to the Strahl family over 100 years ago.
Phase 1 of the project, headed by Danny Dozier, a Main Street Batesville leader and volunteer, has recently been completed. The project is currently in the fundraising stage of Phase 2, which will add a children's rock climbing playground, a music stage, and public restrooms.
Once completed, the park will open for reservations. For more information on naming opportunities and legacy gifts for Maxfield Park, email firstname.lastname@example.org
